Analysis of rough unedited clips
|
With this clip, I love the natural lighting and how it looks authentic. However, this is shot vertically and I would need to zoom in so that it appears horizontal but I would need to ensure that the quality is not lost or ruined when zoomed in and it is still clear what is going on. I may add this to the chorus or the verse to the beginning-middle of the music video

This clip also has the same vibe to the 1st one and I like how the mise-en-scene is fulled and there is a lot going on yet not too much that it is distracting. Again I love the warm colours and natural lighting used from the sun. With this shot I could include it in any part of the music video for the parts where there would be flashbacks as the parts where my actors would be lip-synching I will be using cold blue colours to convey their emotions and so this scene would contrast very well in terms of colours and would have a very effective impact making the narrative clear.

When shooting this clip I had trouble with things such as the focus and the lighting as I had to make sure the lighting was perfect as I would be using the natural lighting and also I had to ensure there were no people in the scene passing by or disrupting the view. I will be using this clip as the opening part of my music video as I could add the title of the clip in the sky and fade it in the scene and that would look really effective.

Film Diary
Beach scenes: When filming my music video, I needed to take into account multiple things I hadn't prepared for and so I had to improvise multiple things. For example when at the beach there seemed to be lots of wind and so I needed to use the osmo4 and my phone to make sure there were no shaken clips and so for the scenes at the beach I had to mostly use my phone which I had somewhat prepared for.
Home scenes: The scenes that I had to film at home were less challenging as there were no wind and I could control things like lighting and could reshoot multiple scenes with no problems. However, one challenge I had come across was how to make the parts where Natalya was lip-synching look cold or blue as I had no blue filters to add onto the yellow lighting used and so I intend on editing the colours using color correction later on in premier pro.
Roof top scenes: With the rooftop scenes I had another challenge of lighting as the fairy lights intended to be used were not as strong enough making Natalya's face appear dark and fuzzy and so I took the yellow lighting again up on the roof and used the white background of the walls to make the background appear urban.
Park scenes: Again, a problem I faced when shooting in the park was the lighting as there were no to little lighting there so I had to improvise and use flashlights of multiple phones.
Boat scenes: On the boat I knew there would be no lighting and so I used torches and phone's flashlight which appeared to work and I intend on editing them later on in premier pro.
Overall, today was a success for me. I managed to get all my footage done and with no massive issues such as locations as to the covid-19 situation. I also think now after finishing shooting my video I chose the correct timing as if I had gone earlier or later there would have been a lockdown or the chosen location of the beach would have been crowded.
